El 10 de Mayo se llevó a cabo el seminario de ESPECTROSCOPÍA RAMAN, organizado por la Facultad de Bioquímica, Química y Farmacia, CONICET Tucumán, Soluciones Analíticas S.A. y Thermo Scientific.

SEMINARIO DE ESPECTROSCOPÍA RAMAN

La actividad dio a conocer las ventajas del servicio a investigadores de todo el país. Participaron profesionales de Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Catamarca, Entre Ríos, Salta y otras provincias

El día martes 10 de mayo fue proclive para la realización de un seminario sobre Espectroscopía RAMAN, denominado: “análisis molecular, RAMAN y FTIR. Nuevas aplicaciones y tecnologías”; donde expusieron investigadores del Consejo. Fue organizado por la Facultad de Bioquímica, Química y Farmacia y uno de los servicios centrales del CONICET Tucumán, el Laboratorio de Espectrómetros mencionado. A su vez, hay que subrayar que el taller contó con el aval y el auspicio de Thermo Scientific USA y Soluciones Analíticas S.A. El evento tuvo lugar en el Centro Cultural Eugenio Flavio Virla, de nuestra provincia.

Investigadores de diferentes entes u organismo de ciencia y de Universidades Nacionales participaron de la escucha y tuvieron la posibilidad de interactuar con los expositores. Esto se debió a que percibieron la importancia de los equipos Raman, ya que son una novedad para el análisis molecular en nuestro país.

De la apertura de la actividad se encargó la Dra. María Susana Álvarez de Budeguer, Investigadora del CONICET Tucumán en el Instituto de Química del Noroeste Argentino (INQUINOA). La responsable científica del laboratorio enfatizó que la idea básica del seminario fue la de difundir las virtudes de la Espectroscopía Raman. Además, planteó el sinnúmero de posibilidades que brinda este servicio, sus fundamentos, ventajas y aplicaciones.

 “Es importante porque se usa tanto para investigaciones científicas como para determinación de calidad de productos en la industria; para biomedicina y otras ramas. Es decir, son infinitos los campos pero lamentablemente no es tan conocida. Y este es el objetivo fundamental del evento”, abogó la investigadora.

El laboratorio de Espectroscopía RAMAN (LERa), cuenta además con una responsable técnica, la Lic. Doly María Chemes.

Es uno de los servicios centrales del CONICET Tucumán y dependiente también de la Universidad Nacional de Tucumán.  Ofrece utilidades de identificación molecular y caracterización estructural de materiales. Este laboratorio, único en el noroeste del país, cuenta con dos espectrómetros RAMAN dispersivos de última generación, uno para análisis de muestras macroscópicas y el otro equipado con un microscopio confocal para el estudio de sistemas a nivel microscópico. Aquí, se analizan muestras sólidas, líquidas y disoluciones acuosas, mezclas homogéneas y heterogéneas de sistemas orgánicos, inorgánicos y biológicos. Asimismo, los servicios están disponibles para el sistema científico, industrial y judicial, entre otros.

Por último, el programa de disertantes del seminario se completó con la exposición de los siguientes referentes: la Dra. Eliana Defonsi (Investigadora del INQUINOA); Ing. Alejandra Sánchez (becaria del INSIBIO); Dra. Silvina Chávez (Investigadora del INSIBIO) y del farm. Sergio J. Polo (Asesor Técnico de Soluciones Analíticas S.A, y representante autorizado de Thermo Scientific).

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today introduced the Thermo Scientific Dionex ICS-5000+ Reagent-Free HPIC system, designed to elevate ion chromatography separation capabilities to new levels of resolution, speed and flexibility.

 

The new Dionex ICS-5000+ Reagent-FreeTM HPIC™ system is designed to operate at continuous pressures up to 5,000 psi at analytical flow rates and extend the benefits of high pressure ion chromatography to standard bore and microbore, as well as, capillary format separations. High backpressure tolerance is intended to let users increase flow rates to maximize throughput while still providing the advantages of electrolytic eluent generation and suppression. The Dionex ICS 5000+ HPIC system features a proprietary all-PEEKTM polymer flow path for metal-free inertness with the strength to operate continuously at 5,000 psi.

“We call this the universal high pressure IC, because of its extremely broad flow/pressure range. The Dionex ICS-5000+ HPIC system can use the new high-efficiency 4 μm-particle-size IC columns at high pressures, which may enable users to discover peaks they have been missing. As with prior Dionex IC systems, this is a Reagent-Free system that uses deionized water to electrolytically generate high-purity eluents. This can help save time and operating costs, enhance reproducibility, minimize labor, and limit contamination.

The platform’s flexibility is enhanced by the wide variety of Dionex ICS-5000+ modules available, providing many system configuration options. The system supports a wide range of detectors, including suppressed and non-suppressed conductivity, electrochemical, UV-vis, and mass spectrometry. For simultaneous analyses of two samples or two-dimensional analyses of a single sample, the system includes two channels that can be configured in a variety of ways, including standard bore/microbore, capillary/capillary and standard bore/capillary format.
